Windows for the evening overlap
Because UTC+5 never shifts here, the shape of the trading day is easy to keep in mind: London opens in the early afternoon, New York in the evening, and the American hours run on into the small hours locally, an hour later again while New York is on standard time. The desktop terminals suit that stretch — more charts on screen at once, faster order entry, and automated strategies that keep running while the trader is not watching, which is a desktop-only capability.
Installation on Windows 10 or 11 comes from the Personal Area after signing in. The credentials then differ from the ones just used: a desktop terminal asks for the trading account number, that account's own password and a server name, all shown on that account's card.
A machine that has to be shared with the rest of the household in the evening is the argument against installing at all. The same account opens in a browser on that computer, so the platform does not have to belong to it.
How Exness runs on a Windows PC
On a desktop PC, Exness runs through the MetaTrader 5 and MetaTrader 4 Windows terminals, which install on Windows 10 and Windows 11. The download links are in the Exness account area once you have signed in.
Desktop app or web on the PC
If you would rather not install a desktop app, the Exness Terminal runs in any browser on the PC with nothing to download. MetaTrader gives more advanced charting and automated trading; the web terminal starts without an install.
